P Chidambaram, unaware of the intricacies of the Naga underground politics, decided to settle a fast track deal with the NSCN(IM). He shunted Padmanabhaiah out and inducted RS Pandey, another retired bureaucrat, in his place. Soon Chidambaram had to eat humble pie. The entrenched vested interests in the status quo defeated him. The hoax continues.
